The FDO Model is on purpose simple as indicated above. The basic FDO infrastructure therefore only includes a few crucial components which at the end should be managed in a distributed manner by responsible and accountable service providers: a PID registry, to an FDO profile registry specified by the FDO Forum, and a registry for kernel attributes that contain the minimal mandatory attributes defined by the FDO Forum. It should be noted that the PID registry system is managed by a Swiss Foundation (DONA) and has been running for about 25 years and that other registries have been developed partly under EOSC and NFDI projects.
